As a testament to our commitment towards our trade partners, the MACCS Team recently organised an event encouraging the trade community to meet and discuss future opportunities. We are constantly working hard to ease the trade process for our partners by bringing forward new services such as our E – Airway Bill and Tracking Dashboard.
What is the E-Air Waybill?
The new Electronic Air Waybill recommended practice (e-AWB RP1670) removes the requirement for a paper Air Waybill and significantly simplifies the air freight supply chain process. It connects those subscribed members of the local freight forwarding community to the airline systems and other Air CCS platforms such as Traxxon/Descartes and provides feedback on the delivery process/status of their goods.
The air waybill serves many functions, including:
- Transformation of conventional AWB data into IATA CIMP Norms
- Transmission of e-AWB to Airlines
- Transmission of responses to FFWDs
- Evidence of receipt of goods by an airline
- Contact information among all parties
- Contract of carriage between shipper and carrier
- Description of the goods
- Tracking of shipment
What is the E- Tracking Dashboard?
The Tracking Dashboard Service has been developed to give importers more visibility on their shipments by providing tracking information about all their consignments being Manifested, Discharged, Bill of Entry, Delivery Allowed, Scan, and Gate Out. The system enables the calculation of storage charges and electricity charges for containers.
The goal of the dashboard is to show data in a straightforward and comprehensible manner that facilitates our users’ decision-making. By being dynamic, interactive, and displaying facts in near real-time, they help in gaining a deeper, more immediate comprehension of the situation and guiding you through moments of fast, challenging change.
