Mauritius Cargo Community Services Ltd takes pride in ensuring that all cargo vessels entering and leaving Mauritius are cleared efficiently and timely. As part of our mission, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to streamline our processes and ensure that all our stakeholders are provided with the best services. Our Research and Development team is currently working on the development of the Vessel Clearance System (VCS) project, which will significantly improve the efficiency of vessel clearance in the country.
To ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the VCS Project and its benefits, MACCS held a workshop on February 15, 2023, giving stakeholders a comprehensive overview of the system and opening a platform for meaningful discussion and questions. Our main goal with this workshop was to ensure that everyone felt heard, and it was incredibly heartening to see the meaningful feedback given that can help shape our system. The workshop concluded with MACCS outlining the next steps in the project. The stakeholders were given a timeline of when the new system would be installed and how they could get involved.
The upgrade will involve installing a new system and providing real-time information on the vessels entering and leaving Mauritius. The impact of the Vessel Clearance System deployment will be far-reaching and will provide numerous benefits to all stakeholders involved in the clearance process. The new system will be much more efficient, which will help reduce the time taken for clearance and make the process much more effective. It will also help reduce and eventually eliminate the paperwork involved, as all stakeholders can access the necessary documents and data online.
In addition, the new system will guarantee that all stakeholders have access to the same data, which will reduce the probability of errors and make the clearance process more precise and efficient.
