
MACCS participated in the 15th General Assembly and the 25th Executive Committee meeting of the African Alliance for E – Commerce (AAEC) which took place at Radisson Blu Waterfront Antananarivo, Madagascar. The aim of this workshop was to enhance collaboration between member states and assess the contribution of the Single Window Concept and its impact on the advancement of trade digitalization.
Members of AAEC took part in discussions in line with the purposes of the alliance. The agenda covered issues relating to the importance of electronic single windows in enforcing the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation. MACCS CEO Charansingh Dabeesing encouraged all AAEC Members to embrace the WTO TFA initiatives in order to facilitate and secure cross-border trade on the African continent.
The main topics discussed during the workshops were about progress made by member states in Single Windows implementation in line with the WTO TFA Agreement. The workshop also addressed the cybersecurity aspect of Single Windows and the impact of AI on Single Windows.

Mr. Evin Sangeeleemootoo, our Business Development Coordinator highlighted the importance of being part of this event ” It was an opportunity to have an overview on the status of each Single Window Concepts in the member countries and share our experience in our respective countries.” Mr. Al-Shad Issac, MACCS Team Lead from Software Delivery, made a brilliant presentation on AI and Big Data Analytics integration in Trade processes.
MACCS team representing Mauritius was given the task to develop a concept paper for the adoption of e-Commerce by AAEC member states. With the exponential rise in e-Commerce, it is indeed an opportunity for African countries to promote exportation and facilitate importation over digital platforms.
